Tropicana is proud to recognize Bobby Bowling IV for representing both El Paso and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) in Washington, D.C., where he presented Congresswoman Veronica Escobar with the organization’s prestigious Defender of Housing Award.

Bobby currently serves on the NAHB Board of Directors, helping represent the interests of homebuilders and advocate for policies that support housing affordability and homeownership opportunities across the country.

The Defender of Housing Award is a prestigious honor presented by NAHB to federal, state, and local lawmakers who go above and beyond to advocate for the housing industry and support homeownership.

Congresswoman Escobar received the award in recognition of her efforts to address critical issues affecting the housing industry and the communities it serves. Among those efforts is her work co-authoring the Dignity Act, legislation aimed at providing legal worker status for immigrants. She was also recognized for her advocacy related to the cost of electrical transformers, an ongoing challenge that affects housing development and the affordability of new homes.

As a member of the NAHB Board of Directors, Bobby had the honor of presenting the award and helping highlight the importance of policies that support housing opportunities for American families. This recognition reflects the growing impact of El Paso’s leaders on the national stage and demonstrates the importance of collaboration between policymakers and industry professionals in addressing the challenges facing housing today.
