Franklin Mountain Communities, a company led by El Paso investor Paul Foster, has announced the homebuilders that will construct thousands of houses in its planned Campo del Sol community. Classic American Homes, Desert View Homes, Edwards Homes and Tropicana Homes have been selected to build the houses in the master-planned community, which will be developed on 2,300 acres of vacant land in far Northeast El Paso. In Phase 1 of the project, they will build more than 2,500 houses with prices that begin in the low $200,000s. Franklin Mountain Communities has partnered with Dallas-based Scarborough Lane Development to take Campo del Sol from conception to completion. “These homebuilders maintain sterling reputations of homebuilding excellence throughout the El Paso real estate market, and we are excited to partner with them as we build El Paso’s first true master-planned community,” James Feagin, CEO of Scarborough Lane Development, said in a news release. Construction will take place off I-54, near the eastern slope of the Franklin Mountains and Painted Dunes Golf Course. When finished, Campo del Sol will include 9,500 homes, an elementary and middle school, 135 acres of recreational land with trails and parks, and 300 acres of commercial development. Described in marketing materials as “Like a vacay every day!” the community will have resort-style amenities, according to a news release, including a four-acre outdoor aquatic center with a lazy river, a children’s splash pad, swimming pool, grass areas and a food truck park. An activity director will organize special events and activities for the community’s residents. Floorplans from the homebuilders will be available online soon, according to the news release.
