Giving Back to Our Community Is an Integral Part of the Tropicana Homes’ Corporate Mission
April 7, 2021
Giving back to our community is an integral part of the Tropicana Homes’ corporate mission.
For over 70 years, we have enjoyed building dream homes for thousands of families in El Paso- and for many being part of the first achievement of owning a first home. We also love giving back to a community that has helped us grow into a leading home builder in El Paso. As such, we take our corporate social responsibility seriously – and make an impact within the community we live.
Tropicana Homes is proud to build the best homes in the city, but we work just as hard for people, giving back to the community in a variety of ways. From sponsoring corporate events to supporting local first responders, we are dedicated to making El Paso a better place to live.
Why Giving Back to the Community Matters
Tropicana Homes is in the business of building homes…and our community. Why is giving back important to us? We live here and believe it is the best way to help those who have supported us for over 70 years.
Recent Community Endeavors
The past year has been one of the most challenging in our lifetimes. COVID-19 left its mark in so many ways, but El Pasoans are strong. We are fighting back and taking care of the most vulnerable and heroic in our community.
Take a look at four of our recent projects.
1. El Pasoans Fighting Hunger
The El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank helps struggling families throughout the city. They partner with over 130 organizations and businesses throughout El Paso, Culberson, and Hudspeth counties
Along with Tropicana Properties, Tropicana Homes donated meals to help over 150 vulnerable families residing at various Tropicana Properties complexes at the height of the COVID-19 crisis. We were able to deliver essential pantry items such as milk, bread, frozen chicken, and vegetables.

2. Blue Star Over El Paso
Last November, our community recognized the brave members of our local law enforcement, with the “Blue Star Over El Paso” campaign. The event included turning El Paso’s iconic Star on the Mountain the color blue for the entire month.
Tropicana Homes, along with our affiliated companies, Tropicana Building, Tropicana Properties, and Patriot Mortgage, sponsored the commemoration. This was only a small token of appreciation in comparison to everything our local law enforcement keeps us safe. There is a reason why we are the 5th safest large city in the US (Advisor Smith, June 9, 2020).
3. Make-A-Wish Fundraisers
We were proud to participate in the Annual Walk for Wishes as well as previous Wish Night Fundraisers. These are annual community-wide events that serve as fundraisers for Make-A-Wish El Paso. These events raise more than $180,000 every year.
The organization’s mission is to grant the wishes of critically ill children in our community. The staff and volunteers of Make-A-Wish El Paso have helped write dozens of inspirational stories for children battling serious illness every day.

4. Project Vida
Project Vida provides a variety of services and programs for people in need. The organization provides healthcare to disadvantaged families, education services, affordable housing aid, and wellness programs, among other things.
In addition to these, Tropicana Homes has worked on several projects, providing funds and sponsorship for community events and outreach. We know what is takes to be a successful local business and we want to help local start-ups strive.

A business is only as good as its reputation. Tropicana Homes is proud to serve El Paso. These events are just a few of the ways we are giving back to our great community.
